Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • - 9x9-inch or 9x13-inch dish
  • Spatula
  • - Knife for slicing strawberries

Ingredients

For the Strawberry Syrup:

  • - 1 cup fresh strawberries diced
  • - ¼ cup sugar
  • - ½ cup water
  • - 1 teaspoon lemon juice

For the Mascarpone Cream:

  • - 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • - 8 oz mascarpone cheese softened
  • - ½ cup powdered sugar
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Assembly:

  • - 1 package ladyfingers about 20-24
  • - 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • - 2 tablespoons strawberry jam optional
  • - Powdered sugar for dusting, optional

Instructions

Make the Strawberry Syrup:

  • - In a small saucepan, combine diced strawberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice.
  • - Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until strawberries soften.
  • - Mash slightly, then strain the mixture to remove solids. Let the syrup cool.

Prepare the Mascarpone Cream:

  • - In a mixing bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • - In another bowl, beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • - Gently fold in the whipped cream until well combined.

Assemble the Tiramisu:

  • - Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled strawberry syrup (do not soak). Arrange a layer in the dish.
  • - Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
  • - Arrange half of the sliced strawberries on top.
  • - Repeat the layers with dipped ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and strawberries.

Chill and Serve:

  • - Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  • - Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with strawberry jam (optional).

Notes

- For a richer flavor, use strawberry liqueur in the syrup instead of water.
- Substitute mascarpone with cream cheese if needed.
- Best served chilled and consumed within 2 days.
