15 oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed

Salt and pepper to taste
Optional toppings: shredded cheese

Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cooking until softened.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
Stir in bell peppers, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.
Add diced tomatoes, beans, and beef broth. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
Notes
For a milder chili, omit cayenne pepper. Add extra vegetables like zucchini or corn for a twist.
