Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness.
Season flour with salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a shallow dish.
In another shallow dish, beat the eggs.
In a third dish, mix breadcrumbs with Italian seasoning and a pinch of salt.
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in eggs, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
Transfer fried chicken to a baking sheet. Top each breast with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
