Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
Arrange bread cubes in the baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir in mashed bananas.
Pour the mixture over the bread, pressing down to ensure even absorption.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and set.
Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
Use brioche or challah for an extra-rich texture.
