Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with green chiles
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken bone broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

  1. Dice the yellow onion and mince the garlic.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained kidney beans, black beans, crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes with green chiles, chicken bone broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until the liquid is a uniform, deep red.
  4. Place the raw ground turkey at the bottom of the crockpot, breaking it up slightly with a spoon.
  5. Pour the tomato and spice mixture over the meat, then stir in the diced onions and garlic.
  6. Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours until the turkey is fully integrated and the aroma is pungent.
