Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats (45g)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (12g)
  • 1/16 tsp sea salt (0.4g)
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (75g)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (20g)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (2g)
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (180ml)
  • 1/4 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt (60g)

Instructions:

  1. In a 16-oz wide-mouth mason jar, combine the dry old fashioned rolled oats, chia seeds, and sea salt.
  2. Layer the frozen mixed berries directly on top of the dry base to allow the osmotic infusion process to begin as they thaw.
  3. Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, unsweetened almond milk, and Greek yogurt into the jar.
  4. Stir the mixture thoroughly with a long-handled spoon until the yogurt is fully integrated and the oats are submerged.
  5. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or overnight, to allow the phytic acid to break down and the fibers to soften.
  6. Stir once more before eating to distribute the softened berries and the natural ruby-red syrup created during the soak.
