Ingredients:

  • 4 (170g) Salmon Fillets
  • 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 0.5 tsp Sea Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Cracked Black Pepper
  • 0.33 cup Raw Honey
  • 3 tbsp Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 0.5 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 4 Thin Lemon Slices
  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds

Instructions:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets with paper towels until the surface is completely matte. Moisture is the enemy of a good sear.
  2. Sprinkle the sea salt and cracked black pepper over both sides of the fillets.
  3. Mix the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  4. Add olive oil to the skillet over medium high heat until the oil shimmers and wisps.
  5. Place fillets skin side up in the pan. Cook 3-4 minutes until a golden crust forms.
  6. Turn the fish over. Slide the lemon slices into the gaps between the fillets.
  7. Pour the honey mixture into the pan. It will bubble and hiss immediately.
  8. Use a spoon to pour the bubbling sauce over the salmon until the fish is coated.
  9. Lower to medium and cook 2-3 minutes until the sauce is thick and syrupy.
  10. Remove from heat. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and fresh parsley before serving.
