Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) warm water
  • 2 tsp (7g) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp (5g) granulated sugar
  • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp (9g) fine sea salt
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) extra virgin olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until a foamy, tan-colored head appears on the surface.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Stir with a wooden spoon or your hands until a shaggy dough forms and no dry flour remains at the bottom.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-8 minutes until smooth and elastic to develop the gluten structure.
