Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

Instructions:

  1. Place the raw ground beef directly into the slow cooker and break the meat into large chunks using a wooden spoon.
  2. Pour the beef broth, salsa, and tomato paste over the meat, then sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly across the top.
  3. Gently stir to coat the meat and ensure there are no dry spice pockets.
  4. Cover and cook on High for 4 hours or Low for 8 hours until the meat is a deep mahogany brown.
  5. Use a potato masher or sturdy spoon to break the meat into fine, uniform crumbles.
  6. Stir for 2-3 minutes on the Warm setting to allow the sauce to thicken and glaze the meat.
