Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
- 1 cup diced yellow onion
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
- 2 cups Bisquick original mix
- 1 cup 2% milk
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions:
- Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Add the diced onions and bell peppers, sautéing until the onions are translucent and the peppers have softened. Drain excess grease.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the cooked sausage mixture evenly across the bottom of the dish. Layer the thawed hash browns over the meat, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese across the top until fully covered.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Bisquick mix, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the cheese layer, ensuring it reaches all corners of the dish.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until the edges pull away slightly from the sides and the top is deep golden brown.
- Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing to allow the proteins to set.
