Ingredients:

  • 2 oz premium vodka
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup (1:1 ratio)
  • 1 wedge fresh lemon
  • 2 tbsp superfine sugar

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Architectural Rim: Run a lemon wedge around the outer edge of a chilled martini glass. Dip the rim into a shallow saucer of superfine sugar at a 45-degree angle, coating only the outside.
  2. The Cold-Tempering Shake: Combine the vodka, orange liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill to the brim with large, solid ice cubes. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the tin is frost-bitten.
  3. The Double-Strain Pour: Use a Hawthorne strainer over the shaker and hold a fine-mesh strainer over the chilled martini glass. Pour the mixture through both to ensure a pulp-free, crystal-clear finish.
